Here we have a rare Korean War era tanker jacket with all the evidence of battle use. It represents the authenticity, grit and valor of the great soldiers who served in the effort. I love the wear on the edges and strength of the core.
This original military jacket was likely issued by the Army. It comes out of an extensive and authentic military collection in southern Minnesota. The military memorabilia collector only purchased the real deal, and original wear was heavily represented.
The vintage zipper is a mystery to me. I can't find anything about the SECO brand. On the reverse it's marked "USA."
I believe the vintage coat is a size 44 but it may run small, so I'm listing it as 42 - 44. Here are the measurements:
- Chest (pit to pit) - Just under 22"
- Collar base to waist base (lining) - 22"
- Collar top to waist band bottom - 25"
- Shoulder to wrist band base - 21"
- Collar width - about 6 1/2"
As stated above, the jacket is used, full of great evidence. There are stains along the bottom near the zipper (see pic). Looks like oil to me. The collar, wrist, and waist bands are all fraying (see pics). The inside neck tag is missing. There are a few spots where thread fraying is occurring on the interior lining. The vintage zipper works but can be finicky while zipped. Occasionally the teeth separate. I haven't had any major issues with it yet. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the authentic tanker jacket.
This guy had a job to do and he did it. Imagine the things this jacket has felt and seen. It's an honor to own this great piece of military history.
