WW2 Era Forest Service Machete & Sheath | Collins Legitimus 23

Here we have a rare World War 2 era Forest Service machete made by Collins & Co, Legitimus, model number 23. This bruising antique jewel is bad to the bone handle, and shows all the history of use. From the high quality blade to the riveted bone handle, this trailblazer literally blazed trails in the early part of the 20th century, right in the heart of the USA. And then you throw in the awesome tough leather sheath, with "U.S.F.S" firmly branded in the leather.

Here's a cool webpage covering Collins Legitimus machetes.

The rare forestry antique came out of an old estate in northern Minnesota. I believe the machete is from the WW2 era, but it might be earlier.

The Collins Legitimus machete has a blade that's 22" long, and a handle 5", for a total of 27". As stated above, there is patina from use everywhere. There is cracking in the bone handle, and a small loss on a corner. The leather sheath has really cool patina and rivets along the stitching. Someone scratched "423" on one side of the sheath. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the rare Forest Service machete.

She feels great in the grip, and you can feel the power of the forest. Bad to the bone handle.
