Warner Kreuter Pinup Nude Artwork | 1950s Illustration
Here we have a vintage nude pinup artwork created by Wisconsin artist Warner Kreuter. Well, Mr. Kreuter definitely had a knack for the female form. I know it's tough, but there's more to the illustration than the scarf....(ahem). Good show, old man.
The nude artwork comes out of a Twin Cities collection of illustration art. I believe the artwork is a pastel on paper, and was created in the 1950s.
Here's a biography of the listed pinup artist:
Warner Kreuter was an illustrator for the "Milwaukee Sentinel", "Milwaukee Journal", and "Chicago Tribune" newspapers from the 1920's-1960's. He illustrated the daily fashion newspaper column "Alice in Fashionland" for the "Milwaukee Sentinel" in 1925. During his illustrious career, he was a popular pin-up girl illustrator. He also illustrated books, posters, and calendars. He created greeting cards and designed playing cards. His pin-up illustrations have sold at various auction houses including Heritage Galleries.
The unframed vintage pinup artwork measures 16" tall by 12" wide. The exposed illustration measures 11" tall x 8" wide. It looks like the piece previously was framed. The matting has some discoloration (see pics). There is a small discoloration spot to the left of the right shoulder of the figure. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). The artwork will be shipping in a hard acid-free sleeve. Free shipping on the nude artwork.
