Vintage Swing Arm Drafting Lamp | Cyril Pesek Estate
Here we have a vintage drafting lamp from the estate of Minnesota architect Cyril Pesek of Pesek and Shifflet Architects. This little industrial artifact has the patina proof that Mr. Pesek used this swing arm extensively. And you know the main thing that hits me? The circle joint...you rarely see them in these old drafting lights. It does something to the overall design impact, especially with all the contortions. That's my foo-foo way of saying it looks bada**. I mean, check out the ball joint for the shade....the skinny neck is the Business.
The vintage articulating light measures 31" fully extended from the base of the clamp to the top of the shade. Both arms measure about 13". The diameter of the shade is about 4". The shade measures 6" long. The clamp can handle a surface just under 2 1/2". The original wiring is still intact and the light works fine. As with any vintage wiring situation, please perform your own inspection and act accordingly. It worked fine in my shop. The vintage plug states Kinglite Kingsley. The cord measure 58" long. As stated above, there is patina everywhere. We have a few dents in the shade from a few late nights at the office, I'm assuming. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes please). The bulb is not included. Free shipping on this cool industrial lamp.
Mr. Pesek had the eye, both with his structures and his task lamps. It's all the Business.
