Vintage Strange Folk Art Watercolor from Mexico - 1970s
Here we have a vintage folk art watercolor painting of some of the strangest creatures you'll set your eyes on. The painting on paper features human animal hybrids hanging out, like hybrids tend to do. Chopping wood, riding a bull, having a conversation....you know, hybrid stuff. Who wouldn't want to hang out with these freaky critters?!
The strange art piece is titled "Journey in the Bush", and dated on the reverse March 1978. The artist is a mystery to me. The artwork came out of collection of vintage Mexican artwork from the 60s - 80s.
The unframed piece measures 11" tall and 16 1/2" wide. The artwork shows its age. There are stains bleeding through, with the stains evident from the reverse (see pics). The paper is experiencing crinkles throughout. There's also a fold line in the middle. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
