Here we have a vintage psychedelic illustration of a wild animal, and the body is made of stretched letters spelling "Animal." And that's not all...apparently it's attacking a form, which is made of letters spelling "Plant."
I'm putting a large wager on the fact that this mystery artist was flying high when they created this one. I'm not criticizing because I'm flippin' for this thing right now. Just the way the unusual animal is contorting with the whiplash tail going everywhere. It's freakin' out and so am I.
I'm quite sure this counter culture art is right out of the 60's. The matting looks vintage as well. It looks like the artist used marker or black watercolor. I can't find a signature anywhere.
The framed vintage artwork measures 24 1/4" wide and 18 1/2" tall. The exposed image measures 17 1/2" wide and 11 1/2" tall. There is a slice in the paper in the bottom center of the image (see pic). I honestly didn't see it for a few days of looking at this thing. The matting is showing discoloration along the edges, which likely means that matting is acidic (as was the style in the 60s). I have not viewed the piece out of the frame.
