Vintage Midcentury Desk Lamp with Unusual S Shape | 1950s
Here we have a sleek Midcentury Modern desk lamp with an unusual S-shaped design. In the 1950s they were bending atoms, and the cool designers followed suit. Technically you can see past the lamp with ease. But in the real world, you can't. The design and the slick black/gold dynamic results in many looks, many angles, and a bit of envy. Then you add the knuckle adjuster for the shade, and you have a full house, ace high. Who said MCM didn't have attitude?
The rare vintage lamp comes out of an estate in the Rockford Illinois area. I can't find a makers mark or designer. We have a cool mystery on our hands.
The MCM table lamp measures 19" high, 12" deep and about 4" wide. The lamp works, and the cord and plug look original. The socket came with a possible add-on that you can unscrew (white case around the socket). There is light killer patina everywhere, including light scuffs and general wear. The inside of the shade also shows age (see pic). Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the rare Midcentury modern table light.
