Vintage Charcoal Drawing of Girl with a Decapitated Doll | 1957
Here we have a crazy vintage charcoal drawing of a stubborn girl who ripped her doll's head off......first time I've written that one. This dark and brooding drawing originated from a Catholic high school in the 1950s. Yyyyyep. The artist was probably banished to Devil's Island. Wow.
On the reverse their is graphite stating:
"1957 - 58 - Cathedral H.S. with S.R. Johanna."
Outstanding. You're gonna have a great time telling this story. The piece came out of an old estate in the Twin Cities area. The artist is a mystery. I think there's a signature but it's covered by the matting. The piece hasn't been viewed outside of the framing.
The framed piece measures 14 1/2" tall and 17 1/2" wide. The exposed image measures about 9" tall and 12" wide. The piece is quite solid. The frame has a some minor scuffs and wear. There is a small loss near the central top part of the artwork. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the wicked charcoal.
I'm sure this girl grew up to be WWF legend. Don't mess with her.
