Here we have a vintage Blackthorn Shillelagh walking cane with a carved Shamrock maker's mark. Thorns are everywhere on the shaft of this Irish walking stick, and topped with a brass ferrule. The cane has a cool finish throughout, and hidden under the handle is a carved Shamrock with mysterious writing. I'm lost on the maker but I'll put money on it that they're Irish.
The vintage cane came out of a Twin Cities collector's estate containing many antique and folk art walking sticks.
The cane measures about 36 1/2" and a little less than 1" thick, on average.The handle measures about 1 3/4" top to bottom. The folk art piece is quite light. There are a few losses with the finish near the ferrule (see pics) There is a little general wear throughout. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
