Vintage Ajax Metal Company Advertising Paperweight 1940s

Here we have a vintage advertising paperweight for the Ajax Metal Company. This a mythological god full of confidence. He's basically asking "Who's next?" I wouldn't mess with him. A guy or god with a mane and beard like that can probably break a tree trunk over his thigh. I salute you sir!

My guess is the vintage paperweight was produced in the 30s or 40s. The art sculpture looks to be brass. I tested it with a magnet and it didn't attach.

Here's a little history courtesy of Wikipedia:

The Ajax Metal Company Plant is a historic metal factory in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. It was owned by the Ajax Metal Company, which smelted and refined brass and bronze at the plant.

The piece measures 5" high, 3" wide, and 2" deep. He's got some weight to him. The piece has some patina from over the years. Slight nicks, scratches and paint loss, especially on the top of the head and the base. But he's got a great look to him. The bottom edge of the base is slightly uneven, resulting in a slight wiggle if you tap him. But you have to tap him with some force, and I'm not responsible for how he reacts. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on this one.

I had no idea Ajax was so cool. Stand and salute!
