Unusual Mod Wood Sculpture of Human Form from 1950s

Here we have a rare midcentury modern sculpture of a figural form just chillin' with his hands in his pockets and pointing at you with his post modern beak. This art piece is far out...far, far out. He's like a crash test dummy with attitude.

The vintage sculpture is extremely well done. Lots of hours logged on this unusual piece. "Unique" is the word, and "what the..." is the response. Seriously, it will stop them in their tracks and require a second look. Expect many comments and questions, especially after a few drinks.

The mod wood sculpture comes out of an old Chicago estate belonging to a long time art collecting couple. They loved the unusual, yet finely made. They hit it out of the park on this one. Their collection hovered around the 1930-50s range. I'm guessing this piece was made in the 50s or 60s. I can't confirm it though. I also can't find a signature anywhere. We have a mystery artist on our hands.

The mod sculpture stands about 20" tall, 6" wide at the shoulders, and about 3" deep. The piece is very solid. There is a small indentation at the left top of the head, and the "beak" has some wear and a small indentation (see pics). There is general patina throughout, but it's a smooth operator. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the sculpture.

You gotta love it. Check out the pics again. He's stone cold, and made of solid wood.
