Romana Hodlmoser Mikula Mixed Media Artwork of Gothic Castle
Here we have a rare mixed media artwork on paper by listed Austria artist Romana Hodlmoser-Mikula (1924 - 2013). Now folks, this is a scene with a capital "S". Dracula's castle with the burning sun behind and the purple brush in front. Blazes the retinas. The detail and contrasts grip you tight as you observe the intense Gothic scene. The devil's in the details, and this artwork has detail in spades.
The rare mixed media artwork is signed in the lower right by the artist. I have no idea about age. My broad guess is last half of the 20th century. The European artwork comes out of an art collector's estate in the Twin Cities.
Romona Mikula was an Austrian writer, painter, and bookseller. She spent her life in Salzburg and was married to Salzburg painter Sepp Hodlmoser, She specialized in writing and illustrating children's books.
The framed artwork measures 20" tall by 16" wide. The exposed artwork measures about 8 1/2" tall by 6 1/2" wide. The professional framing is solid. There are a couple minor scrapes and small gaps in the corners. Since the artwork is on paper, there are a few small waves. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping not the rare Gothic artwork.
Dichotomy. Contrast. At its core, a screaming vision.
