Regular price $140.00

Here we have a rare and unusual tintype of two women reading a letter in full Galla garb, including some seriously wide brimmed hats. Who said the old-timers didn't know how to stay still for an action shot? Such an interesting image. They're dressed to the 9's and have no time for the camera. And it probably took an hour to set up that shot. You have to love the 1870s-80s. They knew how to cut it up and ship it out.

The rare antique photograph comes out of a Minnesota collector's estate containing some very rare and unusual photography. My guess is the rare tintype came out of the 1880s.

The unusual tintype photograph measures about 4" tall, and just over 2 1/2" wide. There is some slight surface wear (see pic). There also is a very slight indent (bend?) at the top center of the tintype. The very top left is slightly bent. However, the sharpness of the image and really pops. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). The rare tintype will be shipping housed in a hard sleeve. Free shipping on the unusual 19th century photograph.

Nobody writes letters anymore! If you did, they’d read it.
