Here we have a rare gem of a merchant enamel and embossed sign from the 1920s. If you Google "No Goods Sold at Retail", the results show a world of old time wholesalers from the early 1900s. And they mean business. They will do anything to protect their trade, and this sign helped hammer the point down. Check out an example from this article about an old whiskey wholesaler.
Having said that, I can't find another example of this antique blue beauty. The letters are slightly embossed, packing a major punch. It pops.
The rare enamel merchant sign came out of an old collector's estate outside of the Twin Cities. I was told the sign was likely made in the 1920s.
The old enamel sign measures 12" wide by 6" tall. There is a very cool wear from age around. the edges, which is typical of these types of enamel signs. None of it takes away from the power of the visual impact. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the rare enamel store sign.
