Nautical Painting of Battle at Sea - Pastel? - Mystery Artist - Vintage

Here we have an ominous painting of warships in a battle at sea. The main focus is a small sailing boat getting tore up by the battle and the sea. The ocean looks like it's boiling. It seems to take place in the daytime, but the atmosphere does not look welcoming. And I hope those fellas on that boat said their proper "goodbyes." Yeesh.

I believe this is a pastel painting. I can't find a signature anywhere. Some indication may exist on the reverse. However, the piece has not been inspected outside of the frame. Based on the frame, I think this piece was created in the 80s. This is just a guess. It could definitely be older.

The framed piece measures 28 1/2"x 16 1/2". The exposed image measures 21" x 9 1/2". Overall its a very solid piece. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

The sea was angry my friends! Don't miss out.
