Here we have a great piece of New York City art from the 1970s. It's a mixed media collage piece by listed artist Fred Laros. The collage artwork was included in a solo show at the Krauschaar Galleries in New York in 1973. The pamphlet from the art exhibition is included with the painting.
Here's a snippet: "At Krauschaar, Mr. Laros's collages are small, rich and, at their best, characterized by acute attention to detail that makes them, oddly enough, a kind of collage equivalent of manuscript illumination. Unpretentious and in no way spectacular they are nevertheless in a class by themselves."
The New York Times art listing described the 1973 solo show as containing "small scale collages derived from nature."
