Here we have a stunning folk art stone sculpture of an head with an unusual shape and face giving a slight smirk. Pictures do not do this little gem justice. The cool crater lines and patina with varying shades send this one to the moon. And to say I love folk art is an understatement. It's reinforced all the time, including now. And the way he sits gives the head a slight tilt. So good. Imagine highlighting him in a corner with an industrial light shining down, all in half light. Shivers and timbers.
The rare folk art sculpture comes out of an estate of a pottery collector in the Twin Cities. Based on the vibe of the collection, my guess is the sculpture is from the 1950s. However, I would not be surprised if it was created earlier. I can't find a signature anywhere so we're dealing with a mystery artist.
The head sculpture stands about 5" tall, and 3 1/2" in depth and width at the top of the skull. As stated above, there is perfect patina throughout the piece. It is stone cold solid. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the amazing folk art sculpture.
Power to the folk art people. This underground beauty will light it all up.
