Edward Lentsch Mixed Media Painting and Exhibit Book
Here we have a haunting mixed media painting on canvas by listed artist Edward Lentsch of Minneapolis. His work is definitely valued...just Google his name). This is one of his smaller paintings, but it retains his unique industrial tone. His style is almost violent in nature, as the texture starts and stops suddenly. (Check out the grey patches in the top right and bottom left corners of the painting). The song "Gouge Away" by The Pixies comes to mind.
The industrial painting comes with an Exhibition book covering his work. The actual piece is not found in the exhibit book. This is an offshoot of mixed media Modern Art that I can get behind.
Here is the short bio from the Exhibit book:
Lentsch is an artist, author, architectural builder, designer, inventor, and entrepreneur. He resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota and works out of his studio located in the Warehouse district of Minneapolis. Lentsch is also the founder of Artist League Studios, a Minneapolis based think-tank/ studio for emerging artists.
Here is a short statement from the artist:
"My paintings are derived from a source of contemplation and fascination with the wonders of an awesome logic that exists in nature. As words define those things that are most important to our definition of self, art is the translation of those same but more important definitions."
The unframed piece measures 28" x 22". There are two puncture holes (see close up and reverse pics). One of the holes is a cross hatch tear and the other is a small puncture. Given the violence of the image, the punctures don't take away anything from the experience. I didn't even see the holes until I checked the reverse. Any other possible losses are a mystery to me given the nature of his work. Let me know if you have any questions. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on this piece.
If there is such a thing as an industrial painting, this is it. Perfect for you loft or industrial decor. Don't miss out.
