Here we have a detailed sculpture of a gentleman's face and head. The detail of this unique artwork is amazing. We may be looking at an offshoot of a vintage death mask here.
\If it's not a death mask, I'm pretty sure death will follow wherever it goes. He's right up there with the creepiest vintage item to ever grace my shop. Do we really want to know the story behind this macabre art from the underground? We may quickly regret it. The person I bought it from said it came from an old estate. That's all they knew about it.
The unusual artwork doesn't magnetize. I think it's either brass or bronze.
I'm unsure of the age on the unusual face plate. Since it's brass or bronze, I think this is from the 50s or before. It's a guess in every sense of the word. Possibly older, possibly later. The creepy sculpture measures 8" tall x 6.5" wide. It's got some good weight to it. On the reverse it looks like someone welded screws to attach a hanging wire.
