Here we have a belter of a Chinese painting featuring a soldier on horseback, ready to do some damage. I think the horse may be just as dangerous. He doesn't look happy. This one's got the perfect stark tone to match the subject. Heads are gonna roll.
A couple things: I have no idea on the age with the signed painting. I'm listing it as from the 70s, but it may be way earlier or even a bit later. Second, the Chinese artist is a complete mystery to me. The artwork is signed in the upper right corner, along with a couple stamps. The piece came from an estate auction of an art collector in the Twin Cities. The paper looks like a form of rice paper, and I'm guessing it's watercolor.
The framed original artwork measures 17" tall x 13" wide. The exposed image measures about 12" tall x 8" wide. The frame has some light scratches. The piece is quite solid. On the reverse there are tags from the framer in Minneapolis. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I don't need to meet this guy in a dark alley or broad daylight. I'll give him the right of way. Don't miss out.
