Here we have a hammered metal relief of a ship at sea, straight out of the Arts and Crafts movement. Riveting is the word of the day,, because the rivets in the metal frame are the coolest, and heaviest, art this side of the Mississippi. Brutal in every possible way. Rivets everywhere. Artwork like this makes me wonder if the Arts and Crafts Movement predicted the Mad Max phenomenon. An absolute bruiser that needs to hang on a stud in the wall.
The rare metal motif artwork comes out of an old Minnesota estate full of artifacts from the Arts and Crafts movement. The piece was likely made in the early 1900s. I can't find a signature anywhere. We have a mystery artist on our hands.
The Art and Crafts ship motif measures 27" by 27". There is killer patina throughout the piece. There are natural copper stains across the top of the ship motif. The metal artwork has significant weight to it as well. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
The artwork is only available for Local Purchase Only. Free delivery in the Twin Cities area. Please contact me for more details.
Over 100 years of this bruiser haunting the world. It's all good.
