Here we have an unusual set of antique sheriff handcuffs or leg shackles from the 1800s. These bad boys are definitely wrought out of bruising iron. Beyond all the nuances of hand forged metal, you have the biggest chain links I've ever seen. Law enforcement with an exclamation point.
Apparently this blacksmith wanted to make a point and stand out from the crowd. Each chain link gap measures almost 2 inches. I love all the bumps and bruises produced through the metalwork process...and after, for that matter.
The unusual cuffs were purchased from an estate auction in Minnesota.
The handcuffs measure about 19" long. The wrist gaps measure around 3". I don't have the key for this piece, and the cuffs are locked. There is great patina everywhere on the original cuffs. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the cuffs.
These criminal justice collectibles will look great on any wall or shelf in your Man Cave. They don't look good on me. Don't miss out.
