Here we have an antique photograph of an auto repair shop from 1917, complete with mechanics posing in their old work overalls. I believe the photo was taken after long day of oil and crankshafts, 'cause these fellas look they're ready for a jug of the hard stuff.
That pose is something else, especially the bloke in the middle. Then you have the rundown classic cars from the early 1900s. Check out the tiny car with the rod steering wheel. If you look closely, you can see another employee holding an old wood rim bike at the entrance to garage.
The picture is from the C.D Lyford shop. I'm not sure where in the country this little shop was found. The antique photograph came out of an estate in rural Minnesota.
The rare photograph, complete with backing board, measures just under 10" wide and 8" tall. The actual photograph measures just under 7" wide and 5" tall. There are losses on the right side, and in the middle of the left side. There is wear throughout the backing board, consistent with the age. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes please). Free shipping on the rare photograph.
If you're looking for greaser culture, look no further. This is about as authentic as it gets. Grease it up!
