Here we have an old photograph print photographs of African American boy playing a harmonica while sitting on a wood barrel at an old railroad depot. The haunting nature of this small photograph hits like a ton of bricks. The position of the boy juxtaposed to large train of steel is a situation, and smoke from the train is a wicked bonus. I can say more, but just sit with those images. As soon as I laid my eyes on it, the power was immediately clear. Unreal.
The photograph was likely taken sometime in the early 1900s. Given the reflection, we may have a small silver gelatin print on our hands. The photograph comes out of the collection of serious Twin Cities folk art collector.
The Antique photographic print measures about 3 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" tall. The frame measures 6 3/4" wide by 4 3/4" tall. The photograph is not secured in the frame. The photograph shows evidence of age, including slight surface wear. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
