Here we have a stunning folk art painting of Brant Point on Nantucket in the early 1900s. This little muted gem will charm the socks off of you. The naive painting has everything you want in this historical view. Imagine the artist seeing this view from the water and painting it to life. I can go on and on but all you need to do is review the pictures again. The patina has muted it to perfection over that last 100+ years.
The folk art painting comes out of an old estate in Iowa. The landscape painting is not signed so we have a mystery artist on our hands. On the reverse is written "Brant Point, Nantucket."
The framed oil on board measures 14" wide by 10" tall. There is a surface patina throughout, as well as slight speckle losses in a few areas especially along the edges of the artist board. The painting is slightly loose within the frame. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the rare folk art painting.
I love this thing. You can just feel the breeze coming off the seas.
