Antique Leather Studded Dog Collar with "Victor Hugo Jr" Tag
Here we have a bruiser of an old leather studded dog collar with a tag for a pup named "Victor Hugo Jr." I'm still looking for the collar from the descendant named "Victor Hugo Jr Jr"...but I digress. If you want an antique dog collar that fully lives up to the attitude of a bulldog, look no further than this man-eater. Badditude, radditude, and attitude, with a buckle and small lock to boot. This beauty is all the business.
The rare leather studded collar came out of the Midwest in the early 1900s. The tag states the following:
Victor Hugo Jr Property of Ed L. Burchardt
That's about the extent of the story I know, but I guarantee it's a story for the ages.
The antique dog collar measures about 24" in length as it sits. However, the lock has no key, so it's still buckled. I'd add another 4-5" to the overall length. Speaking of the lock, you're going to need to clip it and replace it, unless you know where the key is. The leather can use some moisturizer. One of the studs is missing, likely from the bulldog shenanigans. There inner leather lining has a few areas of loose attachment. There is perfect patina from age throughout. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
