Antique Leather Horse Riding Whip with Unique Pattern | Early 1900s
Here we have an antique leather horse riding whip with the coolest braided checker box design this side of the Mississippi. What a thing to grip and and let fly! If only this beauty could talk. The tight leather braiding is a site to behold, but let's not kid ourselves. It's all about the old game of checkers on the handle. A killer dichotomy between the grip and the rest of the brown leather braids. I venture to say Bettie Page would be intrigued.....(ahem).
The old equestrian horse whip comes out of an old horse breeding estate in rural Wisconsin. The horse whip was likely made in the early 1900s.
The rare equestrian whip measures about 24" long, with the extra whip material adding a couple more inches. There is fantastic patina everywhere. The star attraction grip is experiencing a couple small losses. This bad boy still works like a whip....(ahem). Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
