Here we have a rare japanned copper flash hat and coat rack with an adjustable hanging bar from the turn of the century. I love the ornateness of this bad boy. There are swoops and curves throughout, accentuated by the rare copper oxide design. I've looked and high and low and can't find another example with the hanging bar. It's simple to switch out to your desired placement. You and your visitors will wear hats just so they can toss it at these rings. A rare and wicked piece.
The antique japanned hat rack came out of an old prominent estate in southern Iowa. The piece was made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. I can't find a maker's mark on the piece.
The ornate wall mounts measure about 8 1/2" tall. The hanging bar measures just over 16". There is perfect patina from age throughout the rare hat rack. The four screws included are meant to attach to another piece as opposed to a wall mount. Feel free to interchange screw types to whatever you see fit.
