Here we have a stunner of an American folk art walking stick from the late 1800s, including an eagle head and numerous carvings of either deer or antelope heads. They are all over this beauty! As you move on down the line you have intricate carvings with the heads appearing on all sides of the cane. And to top it off, the ferrule is a military rifle shell from the 1870s. My guess is this was created by a mater hunter, both at hunting game and carving with the best of them.

The folk art walking stick likely dates from the early 1880s. The artist is mystery to me. I've looked everywhere and can't find a marking. The cane came out of a Twin Cities collection of antique and vintage canes containing many folk art examples.

The antique eagle cane measures about 36" tall. There is perfect light patina throughout from age. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the rare antique hunting cane.

Here's to the mavericks who put all their blood, sweat and tears into something that will stick around long after they're gone. She's a fine example, and a grade A, bonafide, dead on wicked piece.
