Antique Firemen Photograph with Flag | Early 1900s
Here we have an antique sepia photograph of a troop of firefighters posing with instruments and a horse drawn fire engine. A couple things nail me straight away. First the casual nature of the dudes in front, especially the guy on the left smoking something and not paying no mind. Second, the ghostly flag flying above fire engine...it looks like it's fading into the backdrop. And about that backdrop. If that's the firehouse, I hope they get some new windows sometime soon. I'm dying to know where this is. There's some photograph pencil marks on the reverse (see pic) but I can't make sense of any of the scribble. This treasure is a mystery and an absolute blast.
The rare antique firefighter photograph comes out of an old Twin Cities estate. I'm assuming the photo was taken in the early 1900s but it may be older.
The framed photograph measures 11 1/2" tall and 13 1/2" wide. The exposed image measures about 7" tall by 9" wide. There is patina from age throughout the piece. There is a small moisture stain in the bottom left corner fo the matting. Please see all pics of the layers, as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the rare old firemen photo.
At ease gentleman, we're all just passing through.
