Antique Diamond Willow Walking Stick from Early 1900s
Here we have a small antique folk art walking stick made from an old diamond willow. You can see why folk art carvers back in the day gravitated towards to the old diamonds. The color, sheen and form is wicked. The unusual pods emerging from the wood will grab your eye every time. This one is unique because of the small size and light weight. More of long cool pointer than a crutch.
The antique walking cane comes out of huge folk art cane collection from the Twin Cities area. This collection had everything from all over the United States. I think the walking was created in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
The rare walking stick measures 27" tall. The majority of the stick is covered by the unique pods of the diamond willow. There are a few pods with some losses along the edges (see pics). There are also a few white scrapes along the main are of the walking stick (see pic). The patina produces a great look. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the walking stick.
When people use the phrase "diamond in the rough", they're thinking of this cane from the old willows.
