Here we have a rare and unusual cabinet card photograph of a woman sleeping in a chair, wrapped in a wool blanket, with a cat sleeping on her lap. And to top it off, the stunning photograph was taken by Ellery Burdick, a renown 19th century photographer from Milton, Wisconsin. If you're a fan of cool old wool blankets (Pendelton, anyone?), you have a beauty displayed in this one.

The bottom front of the card is stamped "E.H. Burdick Milton, Wis." Here is a snippet about Mr. Burdick, courtesy of the website of the historical Ellery Burdick house.

Ellery Burdick’s imaginative toil was rooted in one of the most distinctive buildings of the Milton village during a time he utilized the new technology of photography to document and preserve many of the early images of the fledgling community and its families.

Here is the website containing more info and a photograph of Ellery Burdick:

The rare antique photograph comes out of a Twin Cities collector's estate containing some very rare and unusual photography. My guess is the rare tintype came out of the 1870s.

The unusual cabinet card measures about 4" tall, and 2 " wide. The antique photograph is in extremely good condition given its age. There is a very slight inward bend, but it is very firm. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). The rare cabinet card will be shipping housed in a hard sleeve. Free shipping on the unusual 19th century photograph.

Serenity now! Very cool and chill scene. And flannel.
