Here we have an antique bronze resin bust of honest Abraham Lincoln with all the patina you can ask for. When people say a piece has "The Look" (RIP Prince), I venture this is one found their select list. The composition and evidence of age grabbed hold of me and never let go. The execution of the bronze sculpture is awesome. The pictures don't do it justice. He's staring you down with his full volition. It's almost a death mask.
The piece came out of an estate collection in southern Minnesota. I'm guessing the piece is from the early 1900s. It may be earlier. The artist is a mystery to me. I don't see a signature anywhere. I'm pretty sure the piece is a bronze resin mix, as it doesn't weigh as much as a full bronze would weigh.
If you need a bio of Abraham Lincoln, I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure a librarian will direct you to the appropriate section.
The rare Honest Abe bust measures 4 1/2" tall, about 3" wide and 1 3/4" deep at the highest point. As mentioned before, there's great aged patina everywhere on the piece, including surface wear and naturally elemental patination. The pics show the piece both in natural light and artificial light. The reverse has a couple strips of unknown residue. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the piece.
Take a look at the pics again. If you're a vampire and this guy is a vampire hunter, the future is not a bright one for you. What a look.
