Here we have a vintage Gothic illustration painting entitled "Haunted Lighthouse." First of all, this is the craziest lighthouse I've ever laid eyes on. The coolest and least practical design for a lighthouse ever. When I first saw it I thought it was Dracula's castle with a nautical twist. You have bats everywhere, deadly waves crashing everything, and the devil himself on top of one of the steeples. Haunted lighthouses are never this over the top, and that's an arrow straight to the heart. The detail goes to the middle of the earth.

The vintage horror illustration is signed "Stanley Johnson" and dated 1971 in the lower right. I'm still searching for more info on the artist. I'm all ears if you have an idea. The watercolor and ink piece comes out of a art collector's estate in the Twin Cities.

The framed illustration art measures 20" tall and 25 1/2" wide. The frame looks cool with the patina but it isn't top of the line, so a replacement isn't out of the question. The backing is pretty basic as well. There are a few waves in the artwork paper. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
