1950s Times Square Painting with Exhibit Tag | New York Art
Here we have a 1950s painting featuring the surrealistic hustle and bustle of Times Square in New York City. The colors on this vintage beauty scream and explode everywhere. Urban Cubism, and full of life, if you will. The colors will hit you from every angle. The cohesion is a sight to see. I'll leave it up to the pictures, even though they don't do it justice.
The vintage Cubist painting was executed by Catherine Marra, a Wisconsin Regionalist painting, in the last 50s. The painting is signed "C. Marra" in the lower right. On the reverse you'll another painting as well as an exhibit tag stating the following:
"Times Square" Northwestern Region Rural Art & Craft Exhibit Artist: Mrs. M.G. Marra Address: Amery, Wis Title: Times Square Medium: Gouache:
I was told the painting was in storage for decades. Fresh to the market!
The unframed painting measures 24" x 19 3/4". There is light patina throughout the pieces. The very edges are experiencing some losses. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only. Free shipping on the unreal 1950s artwork.
I love New York City. It never sleeps. The colors!
