1950s Etching Of Grotesque Angry Group of People | Rare Unusual
Here we have.a very unusual etching from the 1950s that will haunt your dreams, and your waking life. The dead eyes sinking in the stretched faces relay a bundle of anger and dread. The distorted smile on the face in the upper left corner is especially awful, and oh so good. There are lines going everywhere, just like people's minds when they step up to this little gem. So crazy and good.
The vintage grotesque etching comes out of an old art estate in Milwaukee. The print is signed "B. Gompertz." I haven't nailed down the full name of the artist so we're still dealing with a mystery artist. I was told the print was likely created in the late 40s or early 50s.
The unusual framed etching measures 13 1/4" tall by 13" wide. The exposed artwork measures 8 1/4" tall x 8 1/3" wide. There is discoloration near the matting edge from age. There is patina thought the frame. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the unusual etching.
