1950s Cityscape Painting with Skyscrapers at Night | 1958
Regular priceSale price
Here we have a 1950s painting featuring the surrealistic nighttime vision of an urban landscape, likely New York City. The colors on this vintage beauty scream and explode out of the darkness, and the leaning skyscrapers are managing if not anything else. The colors and reflections will hit you from every angle. The cohesion is a sight to see. I'll leave it up to the pictures, even though they don't do it justice.
The vintage urban landscape painting was executed by Catherine Marra, a Wisconsin Regionalist painting, in the last 50s. The painting is signed "C. Marra" in the lower right and dated 1958.
I was told the painting was in storage for decades. Fresh to the market!
The unframed painting measures 24" wide x 18" tall. There is light patina throughout the pieces. The very edges are experiencing some losses. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
