1940s San Francisco Painting of Neighborhood in the Hills | WPA
Here we have a stunning WPA era painting of a San Francisco neighborhood, possibly Little Hollywood. This beauty contains some great amped up WPA strokes you'll ever find on the West Coast. Even if you only catch this painting out of the corner of your eye, you already know there's a nostalgic sweetness behind the vibrant colors. It slices in a warm and rolling way. I mean those colors of the clay roof panels just dance.
The WPA era painting came out of an old estate in San Francisco. The vintage painting is signed "J. Hager" in the lower right corner.I haven't figured out the artist so we're dealing with a mystery artist. I was told it was likely produced in the early 1940s.
The framed WPA era artwork measures just under 21"wide by 27" tall and 1 1/4." There is slight surface patina throughout the painting. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx and UPS to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the WPA San Francisco painting.
