Here we have an authentic 1930s workwear suede leather jacket made by the Great Western Sportswear company. Who knew suede would last through the rigors of depression era work or sport, but this baby made it. Check out the contrast between the fully worn leather collar/lining and the brown suede. He was looking good doing those chores and riding that motorcycle. This is the vintage workwear clothing style that stands above the rest. The heavy authentic patina reflects years of work and fun. I'm pretty sure he smoked a few cigarettes on his adventures as well (as was the style at the time...similar to wearing an onion on your belt).
Here are the specific dimensions:
Pit to pit: 19 1/2"
Top collar seam to bottom hem in front: 28 1/2"
Bottom collar (neck) seam to bottom hem in front: 26"
Sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff hem: 24"
Shoulders in back: 17"
Neck to bottom hem in back: 26 1/2"
The jacket comes out of an old estate in rural Minnesota. The tag notes a size 40. The talon zipper contains the old sunburst design. The reverse states "Made in the USA Talon." The left side zipper track needs replacing (see pic). I'll leave the decision up to you. There is surface wear throughout, and along the edges of the inner lining and leather. The pocket flaps are curling. The cuffs are worn. All the buttons work and are accounted for. It shows every year of its age, and it's awesome. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on this bad boy.
Why do I get the feeling that the guy wearing this coat was around a lot of moonshine? Just a hunch. This jacket put in the work and had some fun after punching the clock. Vintage American workwear in all its glory. Don't miss out.
