Vintage Painting of Tropical Parrot | John Beauchamp 1950s

Here we have a vintage painting of a tropical parrot hanging out in an island paradise. Colors, colors, and more popping colors. Blazing in blue, as they say. The vibrant painting is attributed to Minnesota artist John Beauchamp. The piece came out of Beauchamp's estate, the very same estate as his child drawing available in the shop. And now back to the painting. Um, just hit up the pictures again. It's a vintage screen saver. Rockin'!

The vintage tropical painting is not signed, which was common with Beauchamp. I'm guessing the painting is from the mid-century period, likely the 1950s.

Here's a short biography of John Beauchamp, courtesy of mlps.com :

John Beauchamp was born in Mankato, Minnesota in 1925. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1954 and was Instructor of Drawing and Painting at the University of Minnesota from 1957-1959. His paintings are in the collections of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. John passed away in May this year at the age of 94.

Here is Beauchamp's painting at the Walker Art Center:

The framed parrot painting measures 13" x 11". The canvas is easily accessible given the lack of professional framing. Based on previous Beauchamp artwork, I believe he framed this himself to preserve it. The back of the frame even has paint splatters. Fantastic. Having said that, the frame is higher in character than quality. Do what you wish with it! Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
