Vintage NYC Firehouse Painting by Daniel Kerlin | 1982

Here was have a vintage watercolor painting of the #2 Firehouse in Greenwich Village in New York City. First, I can't get over how someone can create an insanely detailed architectural scene using watercolors. Every brick, every slice of the window guard, every....well, you get the idea. You know I'm a sucker for industrial scenes, and this one delivers. Then you have the figural head above the garage door with the flag waving, and you have an official cherry on top.

And now let's step it up a notch. Apparently, this firehouse started as a brothel, and now it is haunted to the gills. Check out this link and you'll see A) the real front of the firehouse, and B) how this place is a portal to hell.

On to the logistics. The detailed artwork was executed by listed artist Daniel Kerlin in 1982. The piece is signed in the lower right corner, dated on the reverse of the paper, and inscribed "Greenwich Village - NYC" in the lower left.

Here is an article about Mr. Kerlin's background and nationally renowned talents for painting local and regional scenes.

The framed watercolor measures 12 1/2" wide, 9 1/2" tall, and 3/4" deep. The exposed watercolor measures about 9" wide by 6 1/2" tall. The vintage frame has some wear. The matting is still in good shape, as is the actual artwork. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the vintage watercolor.

Check out the silhouette of a firetruck behind the gents in the scene. Haunted, I tells ya.
