Vintage Articulating Desk Lamp | General Electric

Here we have a bruiser of an industrial desk light from the 1920s. We can talk all day about the articulating hook arm, buts let's just cut right to the chase. The unusual "Michelin Man" black shade mixed with the wicked patina everywhere, finishing with the black base. As usual, this belter was screaming at me from across the way. The elements weren't going to keep me from snatching up this attitude objectified. The cat who owned this thing could keep the crowd moving just with his/her eyes.

This convicted criminal came out of an estate outside of the Twin Cities. With the Art Deco lines everywhere, I'm assuming this is from the 1920s or 30s. General Electric manufactured this line, and probably cut it off quickly when everyone ran for the hills. Fantastic.

The cool vintage lamp stands about 17" tall at normal height, and about 12" deep in the same position. The shade is a little over 5" tall and has a diameter of just under 7". There appears to be some welding at the base of the socket. The articulating joints work fine. The base of the shade that locks into the shade holder is beaten up a bit but it doesn't affect the functionality. The shade some dents near the base as well. Honestly, they look great. The wiring is original and functional. As with all original wiring, please perform your own inspection and act accordingly. And finally, there is patina everywhere, and it's a major reason I picked it up. Industrial decor at its finest. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes please). Free shipping on the rare light.

The crowd gasps when "Black and Tan" walks in the room. Yet they can't turn away. Shhhh...he's going to say something.
