Here we have a vintage nude painting by listed illustrator artist Roy Keister (1886 - 1983). The devil's in the details, and the horns are everywhere. This stunner is technically a knife painting. What the retinas because she slices. I can't imagine the ability to paint, let alone with a knife. The multi-level frame is evidence someone thought highly of this little gem. Well, she grabbed me like a riptide. I had no choice and couldn't breathe.

Here's a biography for Roy Keister courtesy of the AskArt website:
--------------
Roy Keister was born in Ohio, and his art education began on the farm where he was raised and continued throughout his school days. When he reached maturity he decided he would become a commercial artist in order to earn his bread and butter and be able to continue his study. This work took him to Canada, then Chicago, where he was connected with some of the leading advertising firms of the country.

During this period all his spare time was spent in the country studying nature in all her various moods. Marrying early, his wife has been a great helpmate to him. While in Chicago he became President of the famous Palette and Chisel Club, also a member and exhibitor at the Art Institute.

Based on the Fulton canvas board stamp on the reverse, I'm estimating the nude painting is from the 1950s. Not sure though.

The framed painting measures 20" tall and 16" wide. The exposed painting measures 11 1/2" by 7 1/2". There are losses in several areas of the painting, especially along the left edge and in the right corner. The painting is so colorful that I didn't notice until I got up close to the painting. You can tell the knife method left a lot of opportunity for flailing. I'd suggest restoration but I enjoyed it AS IS on my wall. No flakes can take away from this gorgeous vixen. There is also an official Roy Keister tag on the reverse. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes please). Free shipping on the vintage nude painting.

Straight, no chaser. She causes accidents, and nobody cares.
