Here we have a rare book entitled "Occultism Simplified or The Mystic Thesaurus" by Willis F. Whitehead. This is the rare edition was published in 1921, and was originally written by a secret society that operated out of Chicago during the Civil War up until the 1930s. I'm sure the parties these fellas threw were complete ragers. Especially when you consider this book details information on constructing a magical mirror to communicate with the astral brotherhood and the spirit realms. These boys are single and looking, ladies!
The rare book came out of an old Twin Cities book collection contains books on the occult, magic, and secret societies. The Professor Hoffman book in the shop came out of the same estate.

Willis F. Whitehead (February 11, 1854 - December 3, 1922) was an American occultist and author, noted as the Supreme Grand Vizier of the Ancient Order of the Oriental Magi and founder of the Royal Adept Mystics.
The Ancient Order of the Oriental Magi was an occult society based in Chicago, Illinois, organised by News E. Wood, Thomas J. Betiero, and others, promoting itself as "a lineal descendant of the Ancient Pharaohs, and the original parchment of the ancient Magi."
The Royal Adept Mystics (Royal Adepts of Mysticism, R.A.M.), Order of the Infinite, was an arcane society, organised by Willis F. Whitehead at Chicago, Illinois in 1898, ostensibly in order to promote occult wisdom — such as that received from the Astral Brotherhood of Magic — among selected initiates.
The rare hardback book measures 7 1/2" x (almost) 5 1/2". The book has some shelf wear on the corners and ends. I see no writing or notes anywhere. There are a few light discolorations on the front near the author's name,.There is also a loss on the binding under "Simplified." Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
