Here we have a rare drypoint etching of a war scene by Hawaiian artist Nils P. Larsen. Nothing subtle about this powerful artwork. Scorched earth, if you will. Bodies, a doll, brutal machinery tracks, and a shimmering cross in the distance. He went for jugular and succeeded.
The piece is titled "What Cost Fuhrer?" It is pencil signed by the artist in the lower right-hand corner, and also signed in the plate above it. I believe the piece is from the 1940s.
Nils P. Larsen was a renaissance man. He was a renowned artist and a renowned doctor in Hawaii. Typical path. He has artwork registered with the Library of Congress. Check out one

Unreal story, and a great artist.
The framed war etching measures about 12" tall and 13 1/2" wide. The exposed print measures 7" x 9". There is evidence of staining on the vintage matting, especially in the top right and bottom left corners. There is some discoloration on the glass near the bottom corner of the print. There are a few small foxing spots on the print. The backing could be tightened a bit as well. The piece might need a new framing. I'll leave it up to you.
