Festoon Lithograph Poster of Hippie Guitar Player | 1963

Here we have a rare offset lithograph poster straight out of the rising hippie culture of the 60s. The wild art piece was created by the Festoon Films company in 1963. The piece is titled "Hootenanny Tonight," and it's a straight up psychedelic part. It takes about a millisecond to see this came out of this infamous period of our history. The figure playing the guitar is a grotesque. never-ending acid trip in (somewhat) human form. When this one heard "feed your head," they overate. Crazy.

A fascinating history follows this lithograph. Here is the entry for this poster in the Oakland Museum of California.

As stated on the page, this poster is a sarcastic parody of the emerging hippie-folk culture of the early 1960s. You rarely see this poster rise from the underground.

The unframed lithograph measures 22" tall by 14 1/2" wide. The piece was stored rolled up. It has evidence of age and is in vintage condition. There are a few slight horizontal creases. The edges and corners are experiencing some occasional small tears. The bottom left corner is discolored (see pics). None it affects the overall power of the image. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA (no PO Boxes please). The poster will be shipped rolled in a poster tube. Free shipping on the rare 60s art.

There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear.
