Rare Antique Lesbian Print of Couple and Lions | 1893
Here we have a rare lesbian engraving from 1893, complete with blazing erotica and peeping tom lions. Well, you know when you see something like this from the late 1800s, you're talking about a completely rare and underground production. I can't another copy anywhere. Normally the Geo Barrie prints are terribly boring (one man's opinion). This one, not so much. So the white woman is tied to the wall, yet sleeping like a baby. Her girlfriend is keeping her company, also completely comfortable being naked on a bunch of hay. Then you have the glowing eyes of the lions in the cage. So bizarre....1893? Crazy.
The rare lesbian print came out of a Twin Cities collector's estate that tended towards the underground edge. The print was published by Geo Barrie but the original artist is unknown. We have a mystery artist on our hands.
The framed print measures 14" tall by 18" wide. The erotic print has some foxing, and some discoloration along the edges. There are a couple small tears around the edges as well. The print definitely shows its age. The frame is quite basic but it works. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
