Moshe Katz Mixed Media Painting of Seated Figure | 1960s

Moshe Katz Mixed Media Painting of Seated Figure | 1960s

Here we have a powerful original painting by listed artist Moshe (Morris) Katz. It is an oil on canvas mixed media of a seated figure looking as a cool as a cucumber. Wicked, wicked color scheme on this one. Looks like a heat map. There's a lot swirling around this one, including the temperature.

The vintage painting is signed by the artist in Hebrew in the bottom right corner. The Judaica artwork came out of an old Chicago estate.

Here's a short biography of the listed artist:

"MOSHE KATZ: an Israeli citizen studied art at the Bezalel Academy of art in Jerusalem, as well as at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Picasso, Cezanne and Gaugin are his idols, and the power of Mexican art has a deep fascination for him. He enjoys working in clay but finds painting in oil his greatest outlet for stories he has to tell though his pictures. Moshe was born March 2, 1937 in Bucharest, Romania. With his parents he fled from the Nazis and after stops in many countries reached Israel. His paintings have been displayed by Arts International in galleries across the country since the fall of 1965."

The framed painting measures 13" tall x 17" wide. It's in overall great shape. Given the artist's painting style, I can't tell if there are any losses with the piece. The vintage frame has a good amount of patina and scuffs. The reverse canvas has some discoloration spots. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

Don't burn yourself on this one. I'm not responsible if it melts your funky wallpaper.
