Here we have a stunning Haitian female bust sculpture from the 1950s. This one's all about power, and the seas part when she's in the room. The sheer presence of this piece puts the dynamics of any space in a blender, and it's delicious. She's a beauty on so many levels. I'll take them all.
The Haitian wood sculpture is signed "Maurice" on the reverse. The full name of the artist is a mystery to me. I found one other
example from the artist here:
The ornate carving comes out of a Twin Cities art collector estate. I believe this sculpture was made in the 1950s as well.
The female bust stands 14 1/2" tall, 7 1/2" wide, and 10" deep. I'm not sure of the exact wood used but it is very dense and has some good weight to it. There is great patina throughout the sculpture. There are a couple thin horizontal cracks, on her left side. I believe this is natural to the wood. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on this Haitian stunner.
Words don't do her justice. The pics don't even do her justice. You'll see when you get her. Unreal.
