Here we have an old master engraving of a figure wearing an ornate Roman helmet. The elaborate helmet has all the bells and whistles: screaming lions or people, and half horse/half man figures. The cream woven paper has some good weight to it. I don't see a signature anywhere. This ar print was found in a stack of European engravings from the early 1800s.
The rare Roman engraving measures 15" x 11". The image measures 7.5" x 6". The artwork has a hole in the bottom center The piece also has discoloration throughout. Please see all pics as they part of the description.
